Professor-ing

One of so many fun dialogues from today’s reception. I was there as a singer.

Guest (G): Madame, what a great singer you are! It was beautiful.
Me (M): Thank you, you’re very kind.
G: Where do you usually sing?
M: Nowhere… I am new to Ottawa, haven’t performed that much.
G: Oh? Really? What do you do for a living, then? Where do you work?

M: Carleton university.
G: You mean you’re a student?
M: Oh well, not really. I am a professor there.
G: What? Wait a minute… so, which one is a hobby?
M. Professor is. So, I am a singer, my side job is professoring.
