it’s a holiday. morning coffee. miso soup, crab dumpling and edamame for lunch. commenting grad students’ papers. writing my own paper. cycling around the neighborhood. more writing. grilled mackerel and baked acorn squash for dinner. a calm veteran’s day. a quiet wednesday.

With so much production in the Web 2.0 era, that’s voluntary based, we might be temptedto claim that we are now seeing the biggest change in the relationship between people and labor since the Industrial Revolution. Never before have so many people produced so much culture and been able to distribute it so widely as today. The causality between free labor and high productivity sounds to be oxymoron.

With so much production of content, who get a capital gain? What are the motivation and the incentive for this free labor?
